Hepa Thera appoints Dr. Wu Kai as Chief Executive Officer
Recently, Hepa Thera announced that Dr. Wu Kai has officially joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. He will be fully responsible for the company's strategic planning, operational management, and R&D advancement. The addition of Dr. Wu Kai marks a new phase of development for Hepa Thera. Leveraging his extensive experience accumulated in both multinational pharmaceutical companies and local innovative enterprises, he will lead the team to accelerate the clinical translation of the company's pipeline and international collaborations.
Dr. Wu Kai has previously worked at several top-tier pharmaceutical companies, including AstraZeneca, Novartis, Daiichi Sankyo, and GlaxoSmithKline.
He has participated in and led the R&D of innovative drugs across multiple therapeutic areas, covering the entire process from preclinical stages to NDA (New Drug Application) submission. Prior to joining Hepa Thera, he served as President of Xingming Youjian, where he successfully facilitated and finalized China's first cross-border licensing deal for an ophthalmic gene therapy, with a total transaction value exceeding $400 million.
